The Oct. 8 edition of the Capitol Hill Times contains an article that makes a number of inaccurate assertions about Sound Transit and the Sound Transit 2 ballot measure. This memo provides clarification and correction.

The King County Superior Court today dismissed a challenge to the Sound Transit 2 ballot measure. Among the claims was that the ballot title should reflect a $107.5 billion cost for the ballot measure. That cost figure is grossly inaccurate.

Response to July 30 broadcast on KIRO-AM and past assertion by other parties that building light rail across Lake Washington on the I-90 bridge would reduce the number of traffic lanes on the bridge.

Seattle online news site Crosscut.com published a series of articles between June 23 and 27 written by former Washington State Department of Transportation Secretary and Sound Transit Board Member Doug MacDonald critiquing Sound Transit's proposed plans for expanding the regional transit system. MacDonald asserted that investments in rail-based transit infrastructure could be better spent on regional bus services.
